Freya

Found some of the old winton oil paints that I started out with and decided to do a little sketch with them on canvas paper. After getting used to artist grade oils, these was hard to paint with, just can't get it to do what I want though it could have been because of the worn out bristles I was using.

Some recent sketches

Got some watercolors to try to start sketching outdoors, I figured it would be less of a hassle than setting up for oils or soft pastel. Anyhow, I ordered some WC sketchpads along with the watercolors among other things but a bottle of linseed oil broke in the box and damaged the WC pads (which I guess they knew since I wasn't charged for them). Luckily, nothing else was damaged thanks to plastic wrappings. This first sketch is done on a damaged section of the WC paper for practice being new to watercolor and what not.

Haven't done much lately except for a few sketches, just haven't got any energy for much else. Anyhow, here are a few recent sketches ... the first one is vine charcoal and chalk on gray paper, 12 x 9. The rest are charcoal pencil and chalk on brownish toned paper, also 12 x 9s.
