OPEN Acrlyic on gessoed YUPO synthetic paper, 4 x 5
Another attempt using Golden OPENs, using YUPO synthetic paper as the support with 4 thin coats of gesso. What surprised me was that the paper did not warp or curl.
Really nice study. I love the rich colors. How thick is the Yupo? I have seen people use it for watercolors and get some very interesting results. This is the first time I have seen anyone coat it with Gesso.
The YUPO I am using is 144 lb. cover stock and about the same thickness as 1/32 of an inch. I'm experimenting with it because of it's warp, tear, and water resistance qualities. However, it's non-porous smooth surface can be a problem later.
