A little soft pastel sketch

Did this while watching football, I was surprised it came out half decent.

Got some time to do a little painting

Finally got everything ready for the holidays and got some free time to do a little painting. Did this with a limited palette of titanium white, yellow ochre, venetian red, french ultramarine blue, and payne's gray using an image reference. The photo I took made most of the red disappear, will have to scan it when it is dry.

Sandra

It has been so long since I last used the pan pastels, I think I forgotten how. This was such a struggle to even get it to a presentable state, I need to start using these more often.

Made necessary adjustments to the anatomy and began modeling the form

Progress shot of form modeling ...

Added colors to the figure, background and foreground. Still not completely done yet as some adjustments needs to be done, but this is where it is at the moment.

Another new toy

Built another pochade box, well actually, a small prototype to determine the feasibility of a larger version. This prototype is primarily for 5 x 7 1/8 inch panels. It measures 8.5 x 7.25 x 1.5 inches and weighs around one pound, maybe 2. And it will hold 2 wet panels in the lid with 3/16 inch separation.
