Another little painting

Tried using the synthetic mongoose brushes again, still having trouble adapting to them, but this time is a little better. I'll probably stay with the bristle brushes, much easier time pushing the paint around.

oil on board, 8 x 10

After reading reviews on synthetic mongoose brushes, I decided to get a couple to give them a try. Using them to do the portrait study above, it took approximately 2 hours as I struggled with applying paint with the brushes. It will probably take a few tries before learning to adapt to its feel and handling.

And even though I am posting the painting, I am still not completely happy with the results.
